WARRENSBURG:  Gerald E. “Mickey” Hopkins Sr., aged 72, of Warrensburg, NY entered the gates of heaven on February 17, 2024 surrounded by his sister, brother, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew.

Mickey was born on September 12, 1951 to the late Marjorie Tryon and Harry F. Hopkins.

Mickey was known for his kind, compassionate, loving, generous, and amazing personality. He dedicated 21 years of his life to Finch Paper before retiring.  He enjoyed woodwork, fishing, bowling, using his hands for anything creative, and most of all spending quality time with his family, but mostly his sister and best friend Barb.

Mickey is predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tatreeana Hopkins, sisters June Collard, Linda Borden, and Connie Laporte, brothers John and Earnest Hopkins, and his long- time companion Brenda Prosser.

He is survived by his sister Barbara (Chirs) Fawcett; brothers Eugene (Rose) Hopkins, Paul (Mary) Hopkins, and Ronnie (Debbie) Hopkins; his beloved feline, Princess; sons Brian Hopkins and Mickey (Bianca) Hopkins; daughter Stacey (James) McGarrah; his beloved grandchildren and several nieces and  nephews

The family would like to thank the staff at Elderwood Nursing Home of North Creek and High Peaks Hospice for helping to make sure he remained comfortable in his final weeks.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mickey’s memory can be made to: The Heart Failure Research Foundation or The COPD Foundation.

In accordance with Mickey’s wishes, there will be no services held.
